A busy and productive weekend starts what will surely be a hectic week. In addition to decorations, liquor and an outfit to secure before the party on Sunday, there is a cornucopia of odds and ends to wrap up this week. Oh, it will get done.
Saturday afternoon, XL and I had brunch with one of his coworkers at The American Roadhouse, one of my least-favorite restaurants. We arrived late and ran into Juicy in the parking lot who needed some assistance with his car (key stuck in ignition). After brunch, we stopped by the Townhouse to move more of our things out. I didn’t mention this before, but XL has moved out of the Townhouse to live with his best friend. XL will be living closer to me, now. His objective is to save money and pay off bills so he will be in a better position to buy a house, next year. His move required that I re-visit the Townhouse and get the last of my things, as well. “We are nearly done”.
I didn’t feel like doing much after that, but XL talked me into going to a party given by an associate of his. Against my better judgment, and because I’m trying to be less selfish, I went. Here are the ingredients for the party in case you would like to duplicate its success:
8 guests (out of 30 invited) Food for 30 guests 1 location far away from most of the guests 1 venue, too small for 30 guests 1 uninteresting theme Unlimited bad music (via the radio and an old CD collection) Mix however you like. Guaranteed to be a hot mess.
Sunday, I moved some more things from the Townhouse and switched out the dimmers. Did I mention, “We are nearly done”? Later in the evening I scooped up XL and we watched Sex And The City while we ate a late and heavy dinner with Wood and his beau at Wood’s home. And that, as they say, is that.
