As regular visitors of thebrotherlove.com are aware, I am a huge fan of TechTV. Even before they were known as ZDTV (and before that, The Site on MSNBC), I had a healthy obsession with computer tips, developing technologies, and electronic gadgets. TechTV delivers the latest and most comprehensive information on these topics than any other station and with an honest, often hilarious edge.

Any way, it occurred to me if I can lay on my futon and watch the channel for hours at a time, so can others. What I didn’t realize is the station has so many diehard fans. There’s even a fan site for Scott Herriott.

The Powers That Be knew what they were doing when they assembled this latest group of fresh, charismatic on-air personalities (although, I resisted them at first). This is MTV for geeks; replete with a similar repeat cycle (i.e., catch a show’s episode now and again in 4, 6 or 8 hours).

And I haven’t been without my crushes, either. Erica Hill, Roger Chang, Alex Wellen, the Surf Guru (don’t ask) and especially, Danielle “Hello, Nurse!” Knox have all been a source of um… inspiration.

But enough about the TechTV fans. I want fans, too. Lots of loyal fans who will create online shrines, scream my name and paw at me in public. On second thought, I’ve already experienced the “scream my name and paw at me in public” scenarios.

Perhaps, an occasional email is enough.

I was reading your article in your journal entitled “I Want My TechTV/ Geeks Need Love Too”. I know it’s dated a year ago, but I’m confident you’re aware of the latest events that’ve transpired with regard to G4 and TechTV. If so, then you’re aware that techtv.com no longer exist (excuse me, redirects you). We have a new group at Yahoo.com, only a few days old, and already over 300 people have joined. I personally invite you to come check it out. It appears it will soon be our new home on the Web. Here is the link http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Long_Live_TechTV/ and I look forward to seeing you there. Nice little piece you wrote here, by the way.
