I’ll pretend the bevy of black beauties descending upon Atlanta this weekend have at least an inking of the impact Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Bayard Rustin have had on our ability to live a better “lifestyle” than our predecessors and the work that needs to be done to maintain and propel all people forward.

It’s fun to pretend.

Lots of parties, events and photo ops, to be sure. For the most part, I’ll be keeping a low profile (I’ve just started feeling like myself again) but you’ll probably catch me at Outwrite tonight for Lee Hayes’ Passion Marks reading/signing and I’m sure I’ll run into author Christopher David of I’m On My Way fame at some point (at least I’d better).

Haven’t decided if I’ll join Wood at The Lion’s Den on Sunday to catch Rah Digga’s “Party & Bullshit” performance but other, minor celebrities will undoubtedly appear without notice. But up first, I have a car that needs a fixin’ (posted that entry too soon) and a beard that needs a trimmin’.
